Greasy Slim, the town marshall, used
to haul folks in the City Jail  for the
night if they'd had too many to drink
or if they got unruly down in
Peppersauce Alley down by the train
tracks.  Today, you can visit the old
jail and have your photo taken.  It's
on your left just after you cross the
historic Walnut Street bridge.

Continue Exploring Our History...Indoors:
The Peppersauce Ghost Town is a project to preserve the history and culture of our community.  This project
is not a commercial development.  Individuals touring Ghost Town must remain on public streets and are,
under no circumstances, allowed to enter private property.  CORE will facilitate the educational process by
installing informational signs on properties where CORE has received expressed written permission by the
property owner.  Each of these signs will clearly state "NO TRESPASSING" as a reminder to anyone touring
the ghost town that trespassing is prohibited.  CORE does not assume any liability for individuals who fail to
follow the directions on these signs or for property owners who do not give permission for the signs to be
placed on their properties and subsequently fail to post "NO TRESPASSING" signs.  CORE does not assume
any obligation or liability associated with the rights or responsibilities of the property owners.  CORE will not
place any signs on any properties where express written permission has not be received or where property
owners have declined participation.
